Momocon ReviewMomocon Review

Momocon started off with me waking up early but too tired to move. I had stayed up till about 3am trying to get everything I needed ready and waking up at 8:20 didn't help. Tomahawkchunker (my loving BF) was ready and at my house by 10am and I was about to eat breakfast and then needed to put my makeup on. After getting everything together we finally hit the road at 11:40am. Good job trying to leave early ><;

From Augusta, Atlanta is about 2.5 hours away. We where half way to Atlanta so we stopped to eat lunch. With every trip no matter how big or small I happen to leave something behind. This trip ended up being no different. When we pulled off the high way I realized I did not have my wallet O_o. I didn't have my drivers license, car insurance, debit card, or AAA card. I had NOTHING that identified me as being me PLUS I was the one driving. Of course I slow down my driving, instead of going about 15 to 20 over the speed limit and watching for cops I go 2-5 over hoping other people will speed past me and smoke out any cops.

Oh yea and Momocons new policy requiring IDs meant I needed to have Tomahawkchunker sign as my guardian. 25 years old and I had to have my younger boyfriend sign for me.

We got there and the first people I saw was an old friend who I went to high school and played in band with. Jessica had such a cute costume and it was good seeing her again. I think one day we need to do some Sailor Moon cosplays since we use to run around during band practice pretending we where Sailor Scouts (yes we watched the dubbed version back then when it was on USA and then CN). Then Katie and Ashley saw us and said hi and told us about the dealers room. Some medical emergency closed down the dealers room.

Tomahawkchunker and I walked around and snapped photos (which you can see in my image gallery) and then met up with my buddy Erica. By then the dealers room opened up. I have to say it was such a disappointment. We ended up having to wait in line plus the merchandise looked like leftovers from 2 years ago. We went in armed with 60 bucks and left with 61. We didn't even get to see Artist Alley because the line was far too long so we didn't even get our traditional drawing of us in costume.

We did a little more walking around and then went in to watch some Anime but went to the AMV room instead. So we got up and left but it was starting to rain so I convinced them that we should go back just in case the sky opens up, which it did along with a Tornado watch. We watched AMVs during the whole Tornado fiasco and had a pretty good time. A few annoying overzealous fans but overall it was pretty fun.

The costume contest started late and then started raining towards the end, but during the contest it was pretty nice. If only I didn't get my bloomers wet, it didn't help with me being so cold outside. I took a lot of pictures of the contest. Then we left as soon as it started raining again. I realized that we forgot to take pictures of us in our costume. ::sigh:: So ::puppy eyes:: if you have any pictures of us please let me know.

Overall I have to say I thought Momocon was fun, I expected it to be mostly a time to hang out with my friends and watch some Anime which is exactly what it was.
